From one small shop… to an award we never even dreamed of. ❤️
We opened our first shop in December 2016 in Hospital, Co. Limerick.
Back then, I never imagined we would ever have a second business.
But in February 2025, we got the opportunity to grow and opened our second shop in Caherconlish, Co. Limerick. It hasn’t always been easy we’ve had ups and downs like every small business, but we kept going.
So when we received an email saying we were nominated for the Irish Takeaway Awards, I honestly didn’t believe it.
A small business like ours? It didn’t feel real.
A few weeks later, judges came into our shop and ordered food.
We served them like any other customers, not knowing who they were. After they finished eating, they came to the counter and showed us a letter, they were judges from the Irish Takeaway Awards. They had come to try our food.
I still couldn’t believe it.
Then another email came…
We were shortlisted in Munster.
Hospital branch shortlisted for: Pizza, Kebab & Burger
Caherconlish branch shortlisted for: Kebab, Pizza, Fish & Chips & Onion Rings
Yesterday morning, I woke up and still couldn’t believe I was travelling to Dundalk, to the Fairways Hotel, for the gala event.
Then they announced:
🏆 Onion Rings of the Year (Munster) – Pizza Corner Caherconlish
I didn’t know what to do. I was fighting back tears of happiness walking up on that stage. Being in a room with around 100-150 amazing takeaway businesses from all over was such an experience.
I even made a friend from Korea Olive, an incredible woman. We were cheering each other on all night.
That night gave me more motivation than ever to keep doing what we do always trying to serve quality food.

Billy was in business for 35 years, now retired, but since we opened in Caherconlish he has helped me in every situation.

You helped make this dream come true.
