Another lovely Sunday here in Barcella.

Today was our final day for me and our happy place in Barcella.
I am so proud of what Barcella has become over the last few years especially during a pandemic.
I am proud of how it made people feel, that they were comfortable to come in for a chat anytime they needed and called it their second home and the lifelong connections that were made here.
We have had some amazing team member's work with us, you have all been incredible and to all of you, i want to say a big thank you!!

It is extremely tough setting up a new business and takes a lot of work to keep it going, i have had such an amazing support system from day one, so to all of my family and friends, thank you so much for helping me with this adventure especially my father Aiden.
Thank you to all of our incredible suppliers and BIG love to all of our customers, you have all been so kind and it was great getting to know you all.

Exciting times for Barcella ahead and the new owners in the weeks to come, they will do amazing things and i wish them all of the best, Love Catherine

Homemade Salted caramel Biscoff cheesecake😍

Made with a salted caramel buttery base, handmade caramel sauce and the Biscoff biscuit spread, topped with more biscuits and caramel to give it that extra crunch!!

Let me tell you a story about how the name Barcella came to be.

It starts off with a woman named Delia O' Connor from Hollybrook Claremorris, co. Mayo. She was an independent, hardworking and generous woman with a fantastic sense of humour, who had great time for all of her grandchildren. This is Catherine's granny whom she looked up to so much when she was a child.

The next part of the story is about Barna.
Barna is a coastal, picturesque village with a vibrant community. This is where Catherine has lived her whole life and like many others has fallen in love with the village.

These two mean so much to Catherine that she decided to combine Delia and Barna together, and she got the name Barcella.

Barcella is named after two things she loves dearly and wanted them to be apart of the community.
