Where it all began… 🇮🇹
In 1989, Sergio Magnetti and Mary Kelly opened Pasta Mista on 2 Cross Street, bringing a little taste of Italy to Galway. Sergio had come to Ireland from Italy in the 1970s, and together they built a family business around their love of Italian food and homemade pasta.
A few years later, the family moved to Quay Street, where Pasta Mista became *Trattoria Magnetti* and continued to grow as part of Galway’s food scene.
Then came the next generation. Sean and Marco Magnetti returned to Galway and took over the family business, carrying their parents’ Italian traditions forward while putting their own stamp on Magnetti’s.
And today, the story continues across Quay Street and Salthill.
These old advertisements are little snapshots of the journey- from where we started, to where we are today.
