We learnt this week, to our dismay, that a place very close to our hearts will not be re-opening its doors 💔😢

The Iconic The Kitchen at Galway City Museum was one of the friendliest places ever to grace the streets of Galway . Michelle Kavanagh and her fantastic staff serving amazing food in a bright and leafy location, provided a cozy oasis away from the often grey skies outside 🌦 The launching place of many a festival, from Pride to Baboró and Food on the Edge. The location of weddings, first dates, birthday parties and Cooking Classes. Everyone felt welcome when they stepped through the doors and the walls of this café rang with laughter and happiness 😊 We ourselves hatched many a plan, heard good news and made new friends here, while eating too much cake!!

Covid has hit everyone hard, but this one seems too cruel. We wish Michelle and all her staff the very best! We will be down to visit The Kitchen's little sister soon, the wonderful Marmalade Bakery on Middle Street.

Unfortunately we are still waiting for some in house issues to be ironed out so we won't be open until next week. We are pretty disappointed, we could rush it.... but we want it to be right. Thanks for your patience. We have delicious things coming at you!! ### Michelle & crew

Jeez ...sure you never know what life will throw at you!! We will be closed tomorrow to iron out some internal issues...reopening for REALS next Wednesday 26th at 10am 🤞🤞🤞🤞

delighted with our soft reopening today but we've run into a few in house snags...will be fixed for reopening proper on Wednesday 26th. Cant open tomorrow see you all next week. Big big love as ever ### Michelle

It's been a very rocky road but fingers crossed we are heading down the road to reopening.... it will be a different Kitchen experience, smaller menu, shorter hours but with food made and served with love. Thanks for all your lovely messages of support and positivity. Hang in there... we'll see you soon. xx michelle
