It is with great sadness and regret that we share the passing of our friend and colleague, Francie McGovern, who passed away on 7th September 2026.
Francie worked at the Waterfront Hotel from the day we opened in July 2016. Along with his brother-in-law, Harry Bradley, he was an integral part of the refurbishment of the former Óstan na Rossan Hotel.
Francie carried out everything he did with a smile and brought laughter to his colleagues on a daily basis. He had nothing but kind words to say about others and was held in great affection by our guests, many of whom continued to ask after him when he became ill.
On behalf of Kevin and Pat Boyle and all the Waterfront Hotel family, our thoughts and prayers are with his mother Kate and father Francie, his loving children Callum (Chloe) and Nikea, the apple of his eye, his grandson Hayden, his siblings Brid, Margaret, Kay, Patrick and Paul, and all his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
May he rest in peace.
