What a brilliant achievement

On Saturday this group of lads represented Bellurgan Utd in Ardee for the SGT Jim McCumiskey Memorial Cup.
This is a new competition run by the An Garda Siochana to raise funds for defibrillators in memory of my brother who died of a heart attack in February this year.
Richie Watters of The Paint Store kindly sponsored a new set of jerseys. We won our group and beat some strong teams to get to the final.
We then beat Quay Celtic in the final 2-1. (Jim’s son was on the Quay team and scored a great goal)
I am so proud of the lads and I believe we have done Jim and Bellurgan proud. This will be a yearly event and hopefully the trophy can be brought back to Bellurgan for years to come.
