Dundalk Music Collective returns to Toales on Saturday, May 30 with a three-act showcase of original music that feels almost absurdly good value at just €5 admission.
For less than the price of a pint in some places, the Crowe Street venue will host a full night of emerging independent artists, with Ocean’s Myth, Stu Da and Koi bringing a mix of indie songwriting, alternative sounds and stripped-back atmosphere to one of Dundalk’s most dependable grassroots stages.
Headlining the night is Dundalk singer-songwriter Ocean’s Myth, whose strikingly original material is carried by a distinctive vocal style and rhythmic guitar approach that gives her songs a hypnotic, intimate feel — tailor-made for the close quarters and late-night atmosphere of Toales.
Joining her is Stu Da, the London-Irish songwriter and recording artist based in Dublin, whose music blends Irish roots with contemporary pop and singer-songwriter influences. His mix of melodic hooks and reflective songwriting adds another dimension to a line-up built around originality rather than formula.
Koi completes the bill, continuing Dundalk Music Collective’s commitment to showcasing younger independent artists carving out their own sound within the town’s growing alternative scene.
At a time when live music tickets are climbing everywhere else, nights like this remain one of the best bargains in the region — three original acts, a full evening of music, and admission for only €5.
