Tucker Reilly, although not explicitly mentioned in Ireland’s rich literary history, embodies the essence of all Dublin characters from times past. His name has become synonymous with mystery and intrigue, often used to conceal the true identity of a story’s protago

nist and grant a sense of immunity while telling stories within the realm of pub circles.
“Who shared that tale with you?” one might ask. The reply, “Ah, it was none other than Tucker Reilly.”

Only the greatest get to headline Croke Park. Today is all about Taylor v Pili but did you know in 1972 Muhammad Ali took on Al 'Blue Lewis also at the iconic venue.

Some facts:
🥊It was organised by Michael ‘Butty’ Sugrue of Killorglin, a Circus Strongman & pub landlord.

🚫It was not a sell out fight.

📻Ali recorded an advertisement for Quinnsworth Supermarkets while he was visiting.

🏟️Ali toured Dublin and visited the GPO with Paddy Monaghan, a bare knuckle fighter.
