15/03/2021
Sunday 15th March 2020. Today is an anniversary of sorts, but not one worth celebrating… On this day last year, we voluntarily closed our doors in an effort to keep our brilliant customers, guests, suppliers and staff safe. Since that emotional day, it’s been a long 12 months for the hospitality industry. Not once did we think it would be year (and counting…) that we would be able to open the doors once again.
We began 2020 as a traditional family pub hosting guests for get-togethers, quiet drinks, family occasions and hosting many private parties including 18ths, 21sts, 30ths, 40ths and lots more. Today, like many others, we are closed, unable to open, marginalised from society and labelled a “wet pub” (a term we despise!!)
Rather than focus on the negative, we would like to take the time to thank our amazing staff and team here at Lucan County Bar. We would also like to thank all the fantastic support and well-wishes we have received over the last year from our loyal guests and customers. During such hard times, such backing has been invaluable and we really appreciate all the kind words. We look forward to the day (in the not-so-distant future) where we can once again welcome everyone back and doing what we do best.
