Scones, porridge, a blaa or two, fishcakes, Guinness stew and Barry's tea along with superb coffee. Indeed it's all Irish. We are on Stephen's Green and Parnell Square.

We have been overwhelmed with the response to the closure of both branches of Hatch & Sons. Thank you all. It means so much to us.
We'd also like to remind you of our other food businesses still operating - including Edition Cafe and Hugh Brown's in Brown Thomas, The Commons at MoLI in the Museum of Literature Ireland, Itsa Cafes, Joe's Coffee, Dublin and our boutique catering firm Feast Catering.
Thank you again for all your kind words.

UPDATE: JANUARY 2022
The New Year brings changes, resolutions and big decisions. Sometimes change means making the tough decision to let go and say goodbye.
We are so disappointed to announce that Hatch will no longer operate in either the Hugh Lane Gallery or under the Little Museum of Dublin on St Stephen's Green in 2022.
Hatch and Sons began in 2012 as an exciting collaboration, in the height of post-recession Ireland. It was a million miles away from the Celtic Tiger madness that dominated our industry until 2008.
We let the producers of wonderful Irish produce shine – blaas, smoked fish, farmhouse cheese, craft beers, Irish recipes and artisan condiment suppliers and craft bakeries.
Hatch was a well-loved all-day kitchen (not a café!) for Dubliners, tourists and office workers alike. Some incredible people helped us along the way and supported our vision for casual, Irish food.
But from 2020, there were simply not enough tourists or office workers to sustain sales in any meaningful way. Despite some attempts to pivot, it was clear we had lost 96% of our revenues for 2021.
We want to sincerely thank everyone who has helped and supported us and who have put their shoulder to the wheel on behalf of all of us in this industry. Hatch & Sons could only have happened in a post-recession Ireland. She has done her time and filled her brief.
It’s not all sad, though, as we are delighted that Jenny Moran from Luncheonette has taken over our old premises in the Hugh lane and although we are not sure what the future holds for No 15 St Stephens Green, we are sure that the continued support of the Little Museum of Dublin upstairs will ensure a new and successful chapter for the basement.
Thank you again. Everyone.
We hope to find a new home for Hatch & Sons - or maybe Hatch & Daughters - one day.

Lovely new book out from the folks at The Little Museum of Dublin. Called 'The Golden Age of Dublin', it explores the life and work of James Malton whose famous prints captured the city at its finest.
It has been published to accompany the museum's new exhibition on the works of Malton and is available to buy in the museum and all good bookshops.
