Sip & Slurp

Sip & Slurp Sip&Slurp is a cosy little cafe near the canal on Charlemont Street. We specialise in homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and great coffee!

Sip & Slurp was opened on 18 October 2012 but had been dreamt up long before then. In June 2011, we (Tiernan & Barry) discussed the idea over a pint of Guinness and decided that we were going to make it happen. Tiernan had recently returned home from a stint in Australia and Barry was only too happy to get on board. So we set about doing what we had both wanted to do for a number of years, start o

ur very own business. It was not easy and, at times, it was not pretty. However, after a lot of searching, we found our current premises on Charlemont Street and we haven't looked back. We hope that our fresh homemade creations and our attentive staff will make you want to come back for more.

Our Story

Sip & Slurp is a small independent café owned by a couple, Lucy and Barry, near the canal on Charlemont Street in Dublin 2. Lucy and a great team run the café from Monday to Saturday every week. We are incredibly passionate about making our customers happy with delicious speciality coffee (hand roasted by Cloud Picker Coffee here in Dublin) and with tasty, wholesome and homemade food to make you feel good. For breakfast, choose from hazelnut granola, porridge with all of the trimmings, avocado smash, bacon and salmon bagels and the full Irish, all made to order. We have freshly baked berry scones on offer each morning, nestled beside some chewy dark chocolate brownies and double chocolate cookies. Grab-and-go or stay and relax! Lunch options include hot sandwiches (pulled pork and buffalo chicken) on brioche and other classics on sourdough or in a wrap (ham and cheese, chicken Caesar to name a few), a daily changing vegetarian soup and a weekly changing hearty salad.

A new Saturday brunch menu was launched towards the end of 2017 which offers some gorgeous choices: eggs benedict and eggs royale with a delicious hollandaise, sweet and savoury French toast and a vegetarian option of mushrooms filled with blue cheese, walnuts and buttery breadcrumbs.
