First established as a retail business and founded in 1988, Little Italy's aim was to cater mainly for the local Italian community. Celebrating 50 Years in Business

This year marks an incredible milestone and what better day to celebrate than International Women’s Day — 50 years of our Company’s journey!

What began as a small venture serving family and friends in 1976 has grown into something truly special. Our mother’s ambitious vision—to import products from some of the world’s most renowned brands—brought them directly from Italy to the Irish market at a time when they were largely unknown here.

By 1990, the Smithfield business which was now renamed Little Italy Ltd was very much established, thanks to Italia 90, the love affair between Italy and Ireland was brought to a whole new level whereby the Irish supporters returned with a newfound appetite for Italian food and culture.

We proudly dedicate this Women’s Day to our Mother, co-founder of Little Italy, whose vision and commitment laid the foundation for everything the company represents today. Her dedication and passion for quality Italian produce continue to inspire the standards we uphold and the service we provide.

To our customers, suppliers and everyone who has supported us along the way — thank you for being part of this journey. We wouldn’t be here without you.
