Allogen Biotech Allogen Biotech develops portable food contamination detection devices. Ben Teeling and Derek Graydon founded Allogen Biotech in 2011.

The aim of Allogen Biotech was to develop a portable food contamination device. To date, the company has run a successful proof of principal study with the help of MiCRA and the Institute of Technology Tallaght. Allogen Biotech is currently running a “Phase 2” proof of principal which aims to further develop the data generated previously, and form the basis of a long term product development phase

. In September 2012 Allogen Biotech received its first major investment from Enterprise Ireland. The cash generated from the equity sale is being put toward the cost of the development of the device, and the upcoming fund raising round.

Allogen Biotech CEO Ben Teeling recently spoke to allaboutbusiness.ie, and talked about the difficulty in starting up your own business what winning the Grand Prix in the 2013 Startup awards has meant to both himself and the business.

Ben Teeling and Derek Graydon of Allogen Biotech both have mechanical engineering backgrounds and were keen to use their skills to start up a business. When they had the idea to use electrochemical sensors to develop an allergy testing product in 2011, they founded Allogen Biotech.
