Come and say hello, before we say goodbye.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of Staffords after 47 wonderful years trading on our beloved Laurence Street. We will be closing our doors 8th of May 2025.

Founded in 1978 by my late father Jim, Staffords has been a cornerstone of Drogheda, where he introduced many weird and wonderful delicacies over his time. After his untimely passing, I purchased the business from my family and since have cherished every moment spent trading at the bottom of Laurence Street.

In recent years it has become increasingly difficult to operate a small family business, especially since Covid-19 with the increased costs that just are not viable any more for the small local trader.

So, on behalf of my incredible family, wife Caroline, daughter Orla, and son Liam, however hard it may be, we feel now is the right time to say goodbye. We cannot express enough gratitude to our dedicated staff, suppliers, and you, our cherished customers, for your unwavering support over these 47 years. You have all made Staffords a part of your lives and we are proud to have experienced generations of family gatherings and occasions that we have catered for over the years.

We hope that you will support our sister company IZMOO gelateria in the days ahead and look forward to that continued support.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This journey has been a joy, shaping our family and becoming a way of life for so many years, but alas with great sadness we bring it to an end.

Please feel free to use any remaining vouchers up before our closure on the 8th of May.
