It is with mixed emotions that I write this, but I wish to announce the closure of our beloved evening restaurant, "Anthony's," on Sunday, October 13th, 2024.
Over the past 4 years, it's been an incredible journey. We extend our deepest gratitude to all the wonderful people we've met, worked with, and had the privilege of serving. Your support has meant the world to us.
The reality is, to have a sustainable business you must first have sustainable profit. Our restaurant did well and was busy every night with wonderful guests and a great team trying their hardest to look after them. It was just missing a reasonable profit to make it feasible and reflect all the hard work. Sadly the current challenging business landscape and poor government decisions towards restaurants as over the last number of years have made it too hard to see a future in it.
On a brighter note, we're doubling down on our commitment to offering an exceptional bed and breakfast experience. We remain staunch supporters of our community, local restaurants, pubs, and businesses. As we strengthen our accommodation offerings, honestly, I look forward to the coming years with excitement at what we will achieve, further developing the Doolin Inn, into a modern country house with its own unique and genuine hospitality.
