Hi all,
we just wanted to let you all know that we are really appreciative of (and a little overwhelmed by) the incredible support there has been for the French Church St. cafe. We're sorry that we had to close it down but it was a decision not made lightly, and it was simply due to the practicalities of trying to operate an effective and safe cafe in the space and layout that we had.
We have read through all your comments and thank each one of you for taking the time to post what the shop meant to you. To avoid confusion, we just wanted to clarify a couple of things.
We have had a shop and bakery at 32 Princes St for many years (one of the best kept secrets in Cork!). It is currently being renovated and we will try to get it to reopen as soon as we can.
Everything that was available in French Church St. will be available there.
We have managed to keep 90% of our staff so you will see some friendly faces in Princes St.
We are sad but not bitter about having to close French Church St. Everyone and every business have gone through very tough times recently and we are just thankful that we are able to keep going with the rest of our business.
We do hope to reopen a cafe in Cork at some stage in the near future, so in the meantime, thanks a million for all the kind words and we hope that we will see you in Princes St or at the farmer's markets soon.
Casey & Fernanda.

Dear customers,
we regret to inform you that we will not be reopening our cafe on French Church St.
This is as a direct result of being unable to devise a way to trade safely and effectively in French Church St during this crisis, and does not in any way jeapordise the other areas of our business, all of which continue to trade.
We will be reopening our shop and bakery at 32 Princes St in the near future and hope to see all our customers there soon.
Finally, we would like to thank every one of you for supporting us so enthusiastically over the many years that we traded on French Church St. Your support has always meant a lot to us and never more so than in the last few months.
With heartfelt thanks,
Casey & Fernanda, O Conaill Chocolate.

Dear customers,
our shops and market stalls will not be reopening for another couple of weeks. As soon as we have a date we will let you all know. In the meantime, we have organised a basic delivery service from our factory in Carrigaline. If you would like to email us on [email protected] we will reply with a price list and delivery arrangements.
We have delivered quite a number of items to customers already and the method seems to be working well.
Thanks for all the enquiries: we hope to be back as soon as we safely can do.
Take care of yourselves and thank you,
Casey & Fernanda, O Conaill Chocolate.

A message to our market customers.
In the interest of public safety and in solidarity with all the businesses that have had to make very difficult decisions in the past few days, we closed our entire operations; manufacturing, retail, and markets on Sunday 15th March. We hope to see you all back at the markets in the near future.
We wish you all the best and stay safe.
Casey O Conaill,
O Conaill Chocolate.

To all our great customers.
Over the last few days, we have implemented every possible measure to allow us to remain trading safely during this unprecedented crisis. But it is not enough. Like so many other Cork businesses, whose selflessness and fortitude we admire greatly, we have decided to close to the public with immediate effect. We wish you all well, stay safe and we will see you for a hot chocolate or a coffee soon.
