Hello everyone,

You have probably noticed a lack of activity on our Facebook account in recent weeks. There's no need to worry as there is a very particular reason for this.

Recently enough Facebook has introduced a new algorithm that filters what you as Facebook users see on your timeline. This coding evaluates whatever is being posted and who is posting it and decides whether or not the followers of that account should see these posts.

Businesses have taken a huge hit with this recent algorithm as Facebook are preventing followers from seeing content posted by businesses because they want us to pay up.

Here at Fellini's we don't believe that this is how we want to speak with you. Our idea of social media networking is that we can communicate with our customers on an equal level and engage with one another as friends not being separated through inauthentic advertising and large payments just so we can be connected.

It goes against our ethos and is creating a complicated layer to our customer relationship.
It is for this reason that we will no longer be posting on Facebook.

We will monitor our page and you can still contact us via private messages. We will respond to all messages.

Instead of making regular posts on Facebook that don't reach you - our valued customers - we have decided to move to Instagram instead.

This platform suits our needs far more than Facebook is doing at this moment and it allow for beautiful visual and optimum interaction with our friends, followers and customers.

So make sure and follow us on Instagram at Fellini Cafe

You deserve more than we can give you on Facebook and so we are taking the bold step in the right direction.

Thank you for all your loyal following and see you on Instagram.

All the best,

Fellini's Café team
xx

Happy Mother’s Day to all those wonderful mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers or great grandmothers.

“It takes someone really brave to be a mother,

It takes someone really strong to raise a child

and it takes someone really special to love someone more than herself”

A day to celebrate appreciate and treat those who have given themselves so we can be who we are.

A Mother is someone who not only gives birth to her child but she is the one who gives birth to hopes, aspirations and fosters faith to fulfil those hopes.

The word mother probably has been derived to spell the essence of someone who is made for others.

So make sure that this Sunday you treat your Mother, show her how much you care and how much you love her.

Where would we be without our mother's?

Do you know where Sausage rolls come from?

Well, Fellini Cafe Sausage Rolls come from our Café, as they are handmade for your enjoyment but where did the actual sausage roll originate from?

The wrapping of meat or other foodstuffs into dough can be traced back to the Classical Greek or Roman eras.

However sausage rolls in the modern sense of meat surrounded by rolled pastry, appear to have been conceived at the beginning of the 19th century in France.

From the beginning, use was made of flaky pastry, which in turn originated with the Hungarian croissant of the late 17th century.

Early versions of the roll with pork as a filler proved popular in London during the Napoleonic Wars and it became identified as an English food.

As part of our locally sourced and fresh produce, we use the multi-award winning Ardsallagh Farmhouse Cheese.

Behind every great dish is a great product and behind every great product is a great story.

As a toddler Ardsallagh Dairy Manager, Luke, suffered from eczema, and someone told Jane, his mum, that goat’s milk would help.

Luke’s eczema cleared up and since then they have always had goats in the garden and following years of experimenting it grew into something wonderfully tasty.

Ardsallagh has now been making cheese for over 20 years.

They have grown to use goats milk from other local Irish goat farms, and so they now support several other Irish farming families and well as their own.

Ardsallagh goats are milked twice a day and they use the milk to make they famous award winning cheeses that are used in Fellini Cafe dishes.
