Donnegan's Bar - Collon, Co. Louth
Donegan's of Collon is one of the best-known traditional pubs in the historic village of Collon, Co. Louth. Standing on Ardee Street, the pub traces its origins to around 1880, when it first opened as a combined public house, grocery and hardware store, a common feature of rural Irish villages in the late 19th century.
The premises is a protected historic building and is recognised for its well-preserved Victorian pub frontage, complete with decorative timber pilasters and carved console brackets. The building is considered an important part of Collon's architectural heritage and has served generations of locals for well over a century.
Today, Donegan's of Collon remains a thriving community pub, known for its warm welcome, live traditional music, extensive whiskey selection and spacious beer garden. In recent years, guest accommodation has also been added, allowing visitors to stay in the heart of the village while exploring nearby attractions such as Mellifont Abbey and the Boyne Valley.
