The wait is finally over!!!

We’re delighted to announce that The First Drop officially opens tomorrow, Wednesday 14th October, from 9am to 6pm.

For the remainder of this week, join us for coffee, cakes, pastries and scones as we welcome you into our beautiful new space.

From Monday 19th October, we’ll be adding our freshly made lunch selection, prepared daily.

Thank you for your patience, encouragement and support along the way. It’s been quite a journey, and we can’t wait to open our doors and share this next chapter with you.

A heartfelt thank you to the people of Cobh and beyond for the wonderful support over our two soft opening days at The First Drop.

To everyone who popped in, wished us well, shared feedback and showed us patience as we found our feet, it means more than you know.

We’ve learnt so much, have a few changes to make and are more excited than ever about what’s to come. That’s exactly what these two days were about… learning, listening and bringing everything together.

We’ll be back to officially begin our journey in the middle of next week, with our opening day and times to follow.

From our team to you, thank you for being part of our first chapter. We can’t wait to welcome you through these doors again.

We know there’s been plenty of curiosity about The First Drop… and believe us, nobody is more frustrated by the delays than we are!

Opening the doors has taken longer than we ever expected, but we’re determined not to rush the final stages. Every extra day is being used to make sure the details are right and that, when we finally welcome you inside, The First Drop is everything we set out to create.

So while we continue working through those final hurdles, here’s another little sneak peek…

Our piano taking centre stage beneath the crystal chandelier and soon it’ll be playing a very important part in our first Christmas.

Because there is one thing we can confirm: The First Drop will be open for Christmas.

And to mark our very first festive season, we’re introducing:

Begin your evening at The First Drop with Prosecco or w**e, festive nibbles and our resident pianist filling the room with Christmas classics.

Then take the short stroll to The Last Drop, where you’ll settle in for a three course Christmas dinner.

Two special places. One memorable Christmas evening.

Another day, another little teaser… 🍷

One of the bank’s original vault cage doors has found a new purpose at The First Drop, giving everyone a glimpse of our extensive w**e selection while keeping another piece of the building’s history alive.

Still guarding precious things… just with a cork this time.

The delays have been frustrating, but they’re giving us time to get the details right. We can’t wait to open the doors and share it all with you.

From holding valuables to holding conversations…

A little teaser of what we’ve created inside The First Drop. The two original Bank of Ireland safes have been carefully transformed into unique, intimate snugs.

Before becoming a bank, 18 Roger Casement Square was originally the Kilmurry Royal Hotel. We’ve faced a few frustrating issues along the way, but we’re nearly ready to begin the next chapter of this remarkable building.

A place that honours its past while becoming somewhere warm and welcoming for everyone to gather.
