I am Barbara and I live on 2 hectares in the center of beautiful Galica. I'm looking for help conserving natural native forests with some large mature oak and chestnut trees. Since unfortunately more and more natural forests are being destroyed for productive eucalyptus plantations. Because of this, I plan to start an organization to buy old growth forests and create conservation areas for native trees and wildlife. Since native forests provide food and shelter for native wildlife, which unfortunately eucalyptus plantations do not.

about the eucalyptus trees ( monoculture )
The eucalyptus tree native to Australia uses a lot of nutritions and water . To compensate that , it like the fire, as it has a very frail bark who burns very quickly and doesn't harm the tree , and at the same time its seeds can escape its cocoon of resin and start growing.
The problem starts now with the surrounding trees , for example pine trees who burn very easily and for a long time and don't survive. So please help to protect the native forests and help to stop the fire
Another problem with the monoculture forest is that , wild native animals , like the deers , rabbits , fox , badger ,wild boar , owls , falcons , buzzards and many more do not find food or shelter in those monoculture forests . So please help to protect natural, native Forests and help to transform monoculture forests back to natural, native forests . help to stop the forest fires , give the wildlife room to live and clean air for us to breath
an alternative to monoculture forests can be for example .
A soft nature tourism bringing new income to existing properties as accomodation and local restaurants and other businesses .
And as the galician nature is incredibly beautiful , i'm sure a lot of nature loving people will love to enjoy the natural native forest , with its beautiful walks and refreshing temperature ( especially as the summers are getting more and more intolerably hot )
Please help to protect the last natural native forests and help to transform monoculture forests into natural native forests again
An other alternative to monoculture with non native trees and other monoculture plants can be a Food-forest. Food-forests together with permaculture and other mixed growing systems can bring a nice income and can easily feed lots of families with comparatively little ground . So please help to protect nature !
