Some more pics of Gumdrops Cakes latest creation....

A four layer double chocolate cake, carved and decorated into a colourful rocket, with the birthday boy himself peeking through the portal.

D'you know any space mad kids who'd love a cake like this?

It was my littlest nephew's 3rd birthday last weekend and Gumdrops Cakes was delighted to make his cake.

He's rocket mad so when it came to designing it, it was a total no brainer 🚀🚀🚀

The cake itself was made up of 4 layers of chocolate cake, sandwiched with lashings of rich milk chocolate buttercream, and all decorations were completely hand made.

**Ever heard of a CAKE THIEF?**

A 'cake thief' is someone who steals pictures of other people's work and uses them to advertise their own.

**What's the problem with this?**

It's massively unfair to both the original cake maker, whose photo is being used without being credited, and to you, the person buying the a cake assuming you're going to get something of the same standard as what's shown in the pic when 9 times out of 10, you're not.

In fact, chances are the cake you're going to get will be totally crap in comparison...if the CAKE THIEF was able to make a cake like that, they would have done so rather than blatantly steal a photo of someone else's.

It's OK to use other people's cakes to share ideas (whilst being clear that it isn't your work) or as a way of saying "I'd love something like this please" but any cake maker who tries to pass off photos of other people's (often far superior) work as their own is BAD NEWS.

It's also really unfair to other cake makers in the area as often these CAKE THIEVES undercut price wise because they know this takes away the sting of handing over a sh*te cake. 💩💩💩

**How to recognise a CAKE THIEF**

Have a gander through their images, you'll VERY quickly notice a huge difference in quality in the modelling/cakes themselves as well as backgrounds, filters etc.

I'm noticing this cake thievery more and more on Facebook, so please watch out. If you see a cake on someone's page and would like one the same or similar, don't be afraid to ask "Did you make that cake?" and "Can I expect mine to be of a similar standard?".

It devalues the work of honest cake makers and leads to disappointment for all involved...well, apart from the CAKE THIEF, they're well pleased they got your cash. 💰💰
