Another milstone hit.

Today marks a very special milestone for our family. 50 years ago today, my father came back to Castletownbere and took over the family restaurant, beginning a journey that has become such a huge part of all our lives.

Five decades later, the restaurant is still going strong, and while I now have the privilege of running it, John is still there every single day. You’ll find him doing what he has always done well, chatting s**t to customers, catching up with familiar faces, sharing stories and making sure everyone feels welcome.

Over the years, so much has changed, but one thing that hasn’t is the heart of the restaurant, family, community and looking after our customers.

One of the most special things for me has been seeing John's grandson, Noah, helping out in the restaurant over the summer. Watering the flowers everyday. To see three generations of our family connected to the same place is something we can all be very proud of.

John, congratulations on 50 years. Thank you for everything you have given to our family, the restaurant and the people of Castletownbere. Your hard work, dedication and character have left a legacy that will always be a part of this place.

Here’s to 50 years of memories, friendships, hard work, laughter and family, and hopefully many more to come.

Happy 50th anniversary. We’re very proud of you.

The restaurant is will be closed for the next two weeks and will reopen on monday the 14th of September. I would like to take this time to thank all of our customers , and we look forward to welcoming you back after a little rest.
A special thanks to all our staff aswell, it can get very intense during the silly season and fatigue can set it, but you did amazing(as always).

We have teamed up with our neighbours across the road. Ive made up some bespoke recipes for products we will be releasing together down the line.
I have a fish pie and a seafood chowder to start. All products will be made in the restaurant by me using local suppliers where possible. Much appreciated for the support as always.

Exciting news.. We have teamed up with Murphy's Restaurant or Tichs as it is more affectionately known to create a Homemade Fish Pie and Chowder. Johnny Tich makes these from scratch with local ingredients. We hope to make these a permanent fixture at our Fishmarket. Perfect timing for Good Friday. Make sure you try out this restaurant quality product.
