We picked up this lovely painting for The Bakery Flat from our neighbours in Castlerea's Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation Shop.

It's an original painting by Joan Walsh and looks gorgous in the Bakery Flat's kitchen.

If you don't already, you should definitly check out the Castlerea Hospice Shop. It has to be one of the best run charity shops in the country and is our first port of call when ever we need something for Bennys or our self catering apartment.

We love shopping second hand and the apartment is full of local vintage furniture and original Irish art 😊😍🤓

So many interesting insights into the formation and history of our town and reasons to celebrate and protect its historic structures!

Keep an eye out for other events on over the weekend as part of National Heritage Week. The Roscommon Hearld had a lot of events in this weeks paper.

Some of the detail too look out for around the town: million year old fossils in the bank of ireland, original bars on the old bridewell jail, mosaic entrance ways on patrick street, handmade lettering on callaghans shop, original louvre vents on the market house, brick grafiti from 1921 on the old post office, egyptian revival doorways on the courthouse, traditional handpainted lettering on Tom Flynns shopfront!
