So this has to be the hardest of posts but unfortunately mine is not the first small business new or established and neither will it be the last so here goes. Petal Cafe will unfortunately finally close it's doors on Saturday the 19th of August. Every effort has been made to reduce all outgoings for services and supplies but with the continuous drop in trade especially in June & July this is no longer financially viable. My priority is to protect and look after my amazing team and family, whilst I feel I have let them down I am overwhelmed by their support and understanding, this is why they are a great group of not only employees but good friends too. We will continue to support each other over the next 2 weeks and from me and the girls all we can say is thank you!!! thank you for calling in, thank you for the laughs, thank you for all your support, thank you for always checking in on us and our families, thank you to all the local businesses for your support and orders, thank you to all the schools. I really have to thank David Murphy and Aoife for all the support/advice from Day 1 when I walked in and there were 4 walls, no ceiling and a bit of a roof along with a 5km Covid travel restriction and all the support in the last few months right up until I'm gone. Sorry folks but most of all thanks to my family at home who have put up with me being horrible and having no time for them cause I put cafe orders first. Thanks to me Mammy Mary who helped me out at times in Tullynally Tearooms and a few times in Petal Cafe too, thanks to me Dad too for looking after Mam in these harder times taking over the ship cleaning, learning to cook and is now an air fryer expert at 72. Me brothers and sisters and all me fam-a-lam who have visited, cleaned and helped out too. Auntie Fiona who has made aprons, bunting, trawled through flea markets.
Let's wrap up this dismal post on a positive, we're here for 2 weeks, so come say goodbye, check in on the girls as this is a tough time for them but we are focused on having our last laughs working together and we'll look forward to new starts but keeping in touch.
