A Personal Message from Edel.
Nine months ago I said goodbye to my beautiful, brave kind mam Kathleen.
For the last few months I have been training hard and yesterday I completed Tri Athy, in support of both the Irish Cancer Society 🌼 and the Irish Hospice 🌻 Foundation, who fund night nursing care.
To say these nurses are special feels like an understatement — they are truly earth angels 👼✨ The care, comfort, and dignity they give families during unimaginable times is something I personally will never forget.
So firstly from the bottom of my ♥️ heart I want to thank every single person who donated to my GoFundMe, shared it, checked in on me, or encouraged me, your support has carried me through more than you probably realise 🙏
But this journey was never just about crossing a finish line for me. My “why” has always been about giving back and hopefully helping another family like ours during the hardest moments of their lives ❤️
A special thanks to Sue, Gillian, Rachael, Marie Therese, Mark, Karen, and to Aisling our chef d’equipe! Whether racing or supporting from the sidelines, your friendship and encouragement made every mile of this journey so much easier 🚴🏊🏃
