✨️ We are looking forward to this much needed break to spend time with family & friends and to get things kicked off refreshed in the new year for you! ⛄️

❄️ It has been a great year enjoying our time with our favourite familiar faces and meeting new ones. We reflect on the ones who have sadly passed away and wish the best to the ones who have moved on. ♡

Have you heard of Milktart? Well the mini version is back... perfect to wake up those tastebuds.

Well known in South Africa, this usually comes in a large version (which we will serve from time to time too). A biscuit base with a custard-styled filling. Lightly sprinkled with cinnamon and just deliciously creamy.

They go quickly, so we are trying to make sure there is always one for you to try!

Stocked and ready to be dunked!

These will be known well to some but if you're curious, they're similar to biscotti. You can eat them as is, but highly recommend a short dip into your hot coffee or tea.

Grab a bag and enjoy in the cafe or take away! Limited stock with a welcome back discount!

First day back in the New Year... Thursday 2/1/25 (09:00-16:00).

Happy 4th Birthday Protea Cafe! 🎉

We might not get a chance all the time to say but a huge thank you is extended to our regular visitors who have made our small family cafe what it is, a joy to have!

Without loyalty and laughter, it wouldn't be what it is. We are grateful for the wonderful people who have walked through our doors over the 4 years, especially those who have passed.

Thank you to our wonderful family and friends who have been the strength behind the scenes. It can be tough at times, but you've made it easier.

4 years gone, here's to another 4! 🥂

This will be the longest we've closed but there will be some maintenance done to make sure we all start the new year with something new! Keep an eye out! 🛠
