It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the end of bits n bytes.
As most of you are aware I have been out sick since Christmas with a serious back injury and after successful surgery I have been advised on medical grounds that I cannot continue the work I was doing.
I built the business up over 11 years and have enjoyed each and every part from christening cakes, birthday cakes, wedding cakes and being part of all your special occasions. I would not have been able to keep going for 11 years and the shop for 8 years without all your support and business along the way.
I will dearly miss all my regular customers and chats and seeing babies grow to teenagers and more.
To everyone who has helped me over the years I am so grateful to each and everyone of you.... here's to the next chapter of my life.

Save Strandhill People’s Market – Save Our Space

It's been a tough few months here at bits n bytes - im currently out of action waiting on spinal surgery and my family and friends at Strandhill People's Market have been a massive support to me and now i need your help to support them.
The recent avoidable access issues has had a devastating impact on us as a small business and has pushed out the opening of the market to possibly December.

“This is not about protest — it’s about protection. Protection of a place that supports jobs, community life, and Sligo’s rural economy.”
· “The helicopter service is a positive story for Sligo. We support it. What we’re asking for is a middle ground — a solution that allows the market to continue alongside this essential service.”
· “Strandhill People’s Market has been based at Sligo Airport for over 11 years. It’s more than a market — it’s a platform for small business and a hub for connection.”

Please help us to put pressure on the people that can make this avoidable problem resolve itself by signing the petition in our bio..there are so many of us struggling right now and we would be so grateful of your support.

It's Christmas eve 🤶🤶🤶🎅🎅🎅
After 50kg mincemeat, God knows how much flower, butter and sugar we have finally finished all our lovely mince pies.

We have the last batches available in the shop today from 9 to 2pm or until there gone.
