In 1986, 40 years ago, Declan and Liz bought Duggans Bar on Dublin Street. He opened O'Loughlins Bar in May 1986. It went on to be a landmark pub and the origin of many memories for our family and customers. In 2002, Declan and Liz then bought The Irishmans Bar. It has been an iconic Carlow pub for well over a century. To mark Declans 40 years as a publican in Carlow, we collaborated with to release an exclusive Irish Whiskey.
Daithí O'Connell (a Carlowman) is an independent whiskey merchant and bottler. Daithí was delighted to come on board and get this unique bottling completed. We worked together to create an Irish malt and grain blend that has been matured in Oak and Sherry casks, that works really well on its own or with a cube of ice. When we started this process, I wanted to create a whiskey that was approachable to everyone. A whiskey that you can enjoy in any situation. It is as delicious sitting at home in front of a fire as it is in a crowded bar with friends. With multiple cask finishes, this whiskey oozes flavour.
Bottled at 43% this whiskey is ideal as a sipping whiskey chaser next to a pint of stout.
The fabulous 700ml bottles will make great gifts or will look great as part of a collection.
