Rosebay Willowherb Tea for Roots of Resilience Retreat - September 27th 🌱 Colleen Kennedy | Clinical Herbalist, Naturopath, Nutritionist| ANAM KARA WELLNESS
There is a kind of quiet alchemy in resilience.
Something happens in the meeting of pressure, time and change. We are altered, we become something new. Like fermentation, there is a transformation taking place beneath the surface, one thing becoming another, a deeper form.
Rosebay willowherb feels like a plant that understands this.
It rises from disturbed ground, and through fermentation its fresh green leaves are transformed into something darker, richer and more complex.
Perhaps resilience is a little like that too. Not returning to what we were before, but allowing experience to work on us , to deepen us, strengthen us and shape us into something new.
In this instance, the transformation is quite literal - I pounded and rolled the rosebay willowherb leaves, fermented them, then dried them transforming a fresh summer leaf into something closer to an oolong-style tea.
Rosebay willowherb is naturally rich in polyphenols, flavonoids and tannins, including oenothein B, and has a long tradition of herbal use.
A resilient plant, transformed and preserved at the height of summer ready to serve at Roots of Resilience Retreat. Sign up via our link in bio.
