Last week we posted about the baby oil incident on the Bray Central steps.

Today, I’m delighted to post something much more positive.

A teenage girl called into the Boomerang Bar with her aunt to apologise for her involvement. She she chose to take responsibility for her actions, and I want to sincerely thank her.

It takes real courage to admit you’ve made a mistake, particularly when you’re young. Her apology was genuine, thoughtful and very much appreciated. We accepted it without hesitation and wish her every happiness for the future.

Unfortunately, she remains the only one involved who has come forward. I hope the others will take inspiration from her example. Owning up to a mistake doesn’t make you weak—it shows honesty, maturity and respect for the people affected.

People make mistakes. What really matters is what you do afterwards.

Thank you again to the young lady and to her aunt for taking the time to call in. It restored a little faith and reminded us that there are some wonderful young people in our community.

Hopefully, the others will realise it’s never too late to do the right thing.
