We are closing Grangecon cafe on Friday 8th February.
Richard & myself want to thank all of our customers for their loyal custom.

We want to thank our wonderful team of staff past & present for their tireless work & support.

We would love it if you would continue to support all the fabulous local producers, farmers, cheese makers, butchers & dairies as without our strong support they will be gone.

Please come and spend your gift vouchers with us before we close.

We hope to be very buzy for the last few weeks & will work hard to serve you our favourite food.

Blessington is a wonderful town and is starting to blossom! We really hope somebody with energy & fresh ideas will come & fill our space.

We will miss you all.

If you love venison you will hopefully really enjoy this gorgeous stew with prunes! Cooked slowly with red wine, onions, celery, a hint of garlic & some magic pontack, it is a perfect autumn stew. We are selling it from the freezer & also have it on as a special tomorrow! Well I hope so if no calamity strikes!

And maybe once a week we dare to serve this gorgeous roast beetroot soup (it is not everyone's cup of tea but if you like beetroot you will love this nourishing soup!)
Castleruddery organic beetroot roasted till tender with whole bulbs of garlic, thyme & olive oil. Then we peel & roughly chop up the beet & mouli all the juices & soft roasted garlic. Into a pot & add our homemade vegetable stock, blend till smooth & bright red! Serve with freshly grated horseradish mixed with our own yoghurt. This would make a perfect starter soup for any special occasion, just one ladle in a small pretty bowl & a lrg spoon of horseradish cream! Again, how lucky are we with these stunning ingredients on our doorstep!
