01/01/2026
Happy New Year to all our customers, staff, suppliers and friends. We hope you’re enjoying the break, and may 2026 be a kind and hopeful one for us all.
So, picture the scene. Morning light, quiet streets, coffee in hand… and then that sinking feeling. Our lovely floral displays, that we spend so much time and care putting together, to make our town and restaurant look its best, discovered in a state that could only have been created by a couple of merry gobdaws who’d clearly enjoyed a drop too much mead the night before. Probably not evil masterminds. Hopefully not hardened criminals. Just… the sort who might struggle to operate a trowel the right way. At least that’s what we’d like to believe.
We were genuinely shocked to wake up to this today. It has been reported to the guards, and our CCTV is very much working. But honestly, we’d far rather the responsible souls wander in, hold their hands up, apologise, and help to make it right. That would show more backbone than skulking about in the shadows.
To anyone passing this morning and feeling their heart sink: we felt the same. But we won’t let a few thoughtless eejits ruin the mood. In the spirit of our Polish brothers and sisters, we’re going to take it as a good omen: something breaking at the start of the year means luck is on the way. Here’s to better behaviour, brighter days, and a great year ahead. ❤️
