U16s Successful League.
Congratulations to Tubberclair U16s who have topped the Division 3 league table. Over the last few months the players have been training hard and working with coaches. These lads are really enjoying football at the moment and are looking forward to pushing on in the Championship which starts in July.
Our first game in February was against Maryland/Tang in Tang which always proves to be a challenge for both local clubs. Our lads were really up for this game and played excellent football and came away as winners.
Home game was next against St Joseph’s and some game it was. The quality of football for U16s was a joy the watch. It was a close game. In the second half Tubberclair picked up the pace and got those extra goals to win the game.
Next up was away to Delvin/St Paul’s. Another great game by both clubs but the Tubberclair lads always had more gas in the tank. Another win. It was a credit to the lads after a long journey to Clonmellon. Due to a few U16s away and injured we called up a few U14s who fitted in well to the panel.
In early April, Multyfarnhum came over to Tubberclair for the next game. Tubberclair proved too strong for Multyfarnhum. Each game the lads have been getting more fitter and playing good football with plenty of passing and moving the ball quickly.
We traveled to Kilbeggan for our second last game in the league and again the players responded well to managements instructions to how to play the game and won the game. Total respect to Kilbeggan who are now out on their own this year as an underage club and working hard to develop players.
Last game, unfortunately Inny Shamrocks could not field and Tubberclair were awarded the points.
Well done to all the players and management for a successful league and keep working hard for Championship.
