Hi everyone,
Anna is a 15-year-old girl from Ashbourne who attends Ashbourne Community School and previously attended St. Declanโs NS. In 2017, at just 7 years old, Anna and her parents, Ewa and Tomas, received the devastating news that she had cancer. After a long and difficult battle, Anna thankfully went into remission, while continuing to attend regular scans and check-ups over the years.
In Summer 2025, the family had planned a much-needed holiday together when Anna suddenly became unwell. Following further scans, they received the heartbreaking news that Annaโs cancer had returned. Anna has been diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that mainly affects children and teenagers.
Over the past few months, Anna has faced an incredibly tough journey involving scans, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment. Last week, after a chemotherapy session, Anna suffered another setback when a bone in her hand broke as she was getting out of bed, leaving her in severe pain.
Throughout all of this, Annaโs older sister Oliwia has been an incredible support to her little sister and family. She too has witnessed Anna battle this awful illness over the years, and the impact it has had on the whole family has been immense.
The family had another holiday planned for this week, but sadly, due to Annaโs injury and ongoing treatment, they are no longer able to travel.
I would love to raise as much as possible to help ease some of the financial pressures the family are facing, including the constant travel to and from Crumlin Hospital and the loss of income as one parent has had to give up work to care for Anna full-time. I also hope we can help them create some happy memories together in the future through a family holiday or special day trips when Anna is feeling well enough.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to this family. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page.
Thank you all so much for your kindness and support.
