Aunty Lena’s Bar situated in Adare Village arguably the prettiest village in Ireland was established in 1806 and has famously served the needs of its patrons with great success. Our highly skilled kitchen team serve delicious traditional Irish food all day and in tandem with that our bar stocks an extensive selection of beers, wines and the finest Irish whiskeys to help wash the meal down with. Our customers are a mix of local people and visiting tourists who we are more than happy to cater for with our own brand of superior customer service. Our large LCD High Definition TVs provide our customers with the perfect place to view all of the major sporting events (especially Munster, Limerick & Adare matches) live, in full comfort and with an atmosphere that you have to experience to believe. We also have live traditional music sessions every Friday night where audience participation is a must and people travel far and wide to experience this ‘Lenas’ Craic! We have also hosted some of the new and established live bands from around the region as we believe strongly in providing the best possible entertainment for our patrons, if they’re happy then so are we!

RyderCupUSS: “Meet Liz. Hostess at Aunty Lena’s and one of the people who makes sure nobody walks through the door without feeling welcome.

Liz has worked here for nearly four years and although she is small in stature, she makes up for it in personality. Auny Lena’s gets people from all walks of life - Weddings, tour buses, locals, golfers and visitors from all over the world.

She’s seen them all. And she’ll tell you, the golfers are great craic.
Originally from just down the road, Liz grew up as a farmer’s daughter and knows this part of Ireland like the back of her hand. She loves Adare for its beauty, but even more so for its people. If someone looks lost, someone will stop to help. If you need directions, someone will point you the right way. And if you’re wondering what to do, there’s always someone happy to tell you.

That warmth is part of what makes Aunty Lena’s feel a family in and of itself.

And then there’s Liz herself.

With her little Ireland shaped necklace around her neck, she’s proudly Irish and very proud of where she comes from. She loves her job, loves selling, loves meeting people and, as she says herself, thinks she’s quite good at it.

She is.

When the Ryder Cup arrives in 2027, Liz knows Adare is going to be absolutely buzzing. Liz is fully aware they’re going to be “worked off of our socks.” But knowing Liz, she’ll be right there in the middle of it all, greeting people, telling stories and making sure everyone has a good time.”
