Semoga semangatnya terus terjaga.

The sky was grey when we arrived there. Smell of rain quickly combined with the smell of dark dirty oil, to add the misterious feelings and senses. After hours of driving through deep teak forest and corn farms, this traditional oil wells looked very sureal. Wonocolo, a village on top of a hill in Bojonegoro, east Java was witnessing how oil extraction is always the conversation of power and belonging.

Oil was first explored here by the Dutch in 1894 through the Dorse Petrolum Maskapai company, following discoveries in nearby Ledok. The area quickly became a crucial energy spot for the Dutch in Java. Unlike modern drilling, miners in Wonocolo use traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. They use wooden rigs and truck engines to pull oil from pipes hundreds of meters deep. Around the area in Banyu Urip the national oil company had built and operates Block Cepu, one of the biggest oil mining in Java.

The community relies heavily on this, with many residents making a living by operating, transporting, or selling oil from these old wells. Today around 400 wells still active. But the people never benefit the wealth coming to their life, and keep risking the health from smells and poluted environment.

Pameran Indonesian Women Artists 4: On the Map di Galeri Nasional Indonesia.

First experience to curate big scale projects in an art fair and enjoyed so much new way of working that involves the mixtures of creating narratives, balancing visual, markets and gallery system, but also opens opportunity to experiment with public engagement. Thank you so much for all Art Basel HK team, holly, fellow curators , all galleries and artists who participated, and art handlers and everything in between.

My heartfelt thanks to Creative Australia, UNSW Galleries, Khaled Sabsabi, Michael Dagostino, and everyone who worked tirelessly to make this trip a reality. I feel honored to have been part of the community gathering celebrating Khaled Sabsabi's project in Venice Biennale 2026. The process and discussions surrounding this project have been a powerful reminder of what solidarity means in our current era. Also, I am so grafeful to have opportunity to meet al friends there, many more not in the photos, who I share deep thoughtful reflection of what happened today.

Always respecting curatorial decision and vision for creating platforms for unheard voices, forgotten histories, hidden memories, touching stories, and more, a space where we really be there to listen and building conversations. Biennale of Sydney Rememories is certainly a memorable one in the time like this; a bold statement of our needs to stand for the oppresses and suffered, a poetic offering to against forgetting. Thank you so much! Congratulations for the team organizer and artists, to realize in this complicated world.

So glad I made it to this. Big big fan of Araya’s works and so great to see how different paths had shaped her art practices. The Bouquet and the Wreath
a solo exhibition by Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook
Curated by Kittima Chareeprasit and Roger Nelson
The Bouquet and the Wreath is Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook’s first large-scale survey exhibition, and brings together artworks created over the past 45 years, as well as ambitious new commissions. Flowers, beds, and words recur throughout the exhibition, reflecting the artist’s enduring preoccupations with desire and mortality, difference and curiosity. In Araya’s playful yet somber artworks, she invites us to dwell on immense philosophical questions. What is the purpose of art? What does it mean to be human? She obliquely quips: “I don’t need to spell out everything that I feel, do I?
