From The Long Table to Api Jiwa, the journey continues.

Following last week's unforgettable evening at The Long Table John Hardy, the collaboration found its next chapter at Api Jiwa. Once again, fire, flavour, and craftsmanship came together in an intimate celebration inspired by Indonesia's rich culinary and artisanal heritage.

Set beneath the jungle canopy of Capella Ubud, the evening invited guests to experience the artistry of open-fire cooking alongside the timeless craftsmanship of John Hardy—where every detail reflected a shared passion for creativity, culture, and connection.

As twilight settled over the jungle, an evening of Spanish heritage and culinary artistry unfolded at Api Jiwa.

In partnership with Marqués de Murrieta, one of Spain's most celebrated wineries, guests gathered around the counter for a journey of exceptional vintages thoughtfully paired with Chef Arvie Delvo's farm-to-flame creations. Each pour revealed a story of craftsmanship and terroir, while every course reflected the vibrant flavours of Bali and the spirit of Api Jiwa.

A memorable night shared through fine wine, meaningful conversations, and the warmth of community in the heart of Keliki.

Fire. Earth. Ocean.

Last week, Api Jiwa welcomed acclaimed Indonesian culinary storyteller Chef Petty Elliott for a special collaboration during Ubud Food Festival 2026.

Together with Executive Chef Arvie Delvo, the evening unfolded as a journey through Indonesia's rich culinary heritage, where ancestral recipes, local ingredients, and the elemental forces of nature met around the warmth of the warayaki fire.

From the smoky aromas of the open flame to stories shared across the counter, each course celebrated the people, traditions, and landscapes that continue to shape Indonesian cuisine today.

To Chef Petty Elliott, thank you for bringing your passion, wisdom, and deep respect for Indonesia's food culture to our home in Keliki. And to all who joined us, thank you for being part of an unforgettable evening of connection, discovery, and flavour.

From field to flame, every element finds its place.

Our Beef Kamameshi is paired with Mansur heritage rice, an indigenous Balinese variety, organically grown at Begawan Biji Farm just minutes from Api Jiwa. Often described as a cross between red rice and barley, its gently chewy texture, naturally low sugar content, and richness in fibre bring a wholesome depth to the dish.
