This season, the Sukabumi hills are heavy with exceptional local cherries.
But abundance without curation is just noise.

At , we don’t just “source” local coffee we engineer the entire journey.
We take the harder path, moving from our sanctuary bar directly into the misty high altitudes where our beans grow.

True to our core value of Gotong Royong, we work directly alongside local processors and farmers to pick only the finest cherries.

But our job doesn’t end in the field.
As a processor ourselves, we have curated a suite of precise tools from the thermal calibration of our old baby roaster down to the intentional geometry of our drippers to control every variable.

We strip away the unnecessary, leaving only the essential, fundamental flavor of our terroir.

We go into the wild so you can find calm.

We’ve built the perfect blueprint for a life well-lived. Morning rallies at .tennisclub to wake the senses.

Then, taste the profound silence of the mountains that we spent mornings in the cold mist processing our Halimun Natural Process entirely by hand, a solitary craft in the hills translated into a shared experience at our intense seat bar.

Most roasters buy what someone else processed.

We don’t.

These beans went through our hands at every stage. Sorted by us. Fermented by us. Dried under our sky. Then roasted in our drum, 200 meters away from where they were picked.

That’s not a story we made up.
That’s a distance you can walk.

The washing station we built.
The 36-hour fermentation that produces the clarity in your cup.
And the moment the green bean enters our roaster and becomes something entirely different.

A disclaimer before a flavor note:
taste is yours, not ours.

That said when we cup this washed process, we find what feels like roasted peanuts in the body, a brightness of orange that arrives late, and a dark chocolate finish that stays longer than most coffees we’ve roasted.

We don’t know if you’ll taste the same thing.

That’s how long it took for us to feel ready to touch this flavor profile again.

If you’ve been with Kainum since 2023, you might remember that exact moment.
The first time we poured this exotic variety at our cafe in Sukabumi.

It was the very first exotic bean that made us and many of you fall deeply in love with the true complexity of specialty coffee.

When that last batch ran out, we made a deliberate choice to stop.
Why? Because we knew that if we ever brought it back, we could make it profoundly better.

So, we went to work.
We obsessed over the variables.
We spent years re-engineering our roast profile calibrating heat, airflow, and time down just to unlock the absolute purity of this rare mutation.

Starting this weekend, Long weekend will begin.
If you’re planning a trip to Sukabumi during this long holiday, how about starting your journey with a rooted meal at Kainum Lettu Bakrie?

The breakfast we offer is the traditional Sukabumi “Mie Turi,” which has been passed down through generations in Sukabumi.

This includes delicate crafted noodle, beef, sesame and nori then we twisted with a little touch of aromatic chili oil if you want some.

After the meal, we serve Sukabumi Karikil Honey coffee. Through this combination, we strive to create the ultimate Sukabumi breakfast experience and continue our daily efforts to maintain and elevated our quality.

Walk-ins are welcome on the day, but as the number of meals we can serve each day is limited, we recommend you come in the morning.

“Local Series” delivers curated Local single-origin coffee.

From Thursday, April 16, “Toraja Pulu-Pulu Washed” will appear in Kainum Coffee Cafe ⁠* and the official online store nationwide.
At the cafe, you can enjoy drip coffee hot or iced.

You can feel the difference in taste unique to the washed process, which is characterised by bringing out the cleaner fruit flavour and sweetness of coffee beans, from the gorgeous aroma reminiscent of apple, grapefruit, and roses.

When you bring your face close to the cup, the aromatic flower nuances overlap the aroma of sweet and clean with complex and three-dimensional sour taste continues to the aftertaste.
