A few postcards from us ❤️

Every room is different here.

Teak wood, bamboo, glass that lets the garden in.
A private chalet tucked up in the trees that feels like a treehouse - sea breeze coming through, jungle all around you, outdoor bathroom where you shower with the rhythm of the sky.
(Yes there is also AC.)

Some rooms even have gorgeous and intimate little patios- we don’t actually see many of our guests actually using them. (Our friend was really kind enough to pose for us on one of them for a minute but thats just for content)

Tbh this place makes it hard to stay still. You wake up and already your feet are moving - to the water, to breakfast, back to the water, to some random funky last minute mission. Always a little late for something good.

Buut the patios are there if you need them, and our cosy surf chalets are ready for you to come rest in during your intense weeks here with us!

Some things are built to be finished by someone else.
She started as a dream in a Sulawesi shipyard. Three hulls, shaped by hand, inspired by a philosophy of simplicity and harmony with the sea. The man who imagined her didn’t get to see her sail. What he left behind were the bones of something worth continuing.
We continued it.
Now she moves through the bay the way the wind does - quietly, without asking permission. We take her to the corners of Lombok that don’t show up on schedules. Secret waves, still water, the kind of light that makes you forget what day it is.
Come learn to read the wind. Or don’t - just sit at the bow with salt in your hair and let her do the work.
Sailor’s feet not required. Just show up.

Our little piece of wonderland was built almost 20 years ago ❤️

Here, we all kind of lose our shoes. Hop around with dirty but strong, happy soles. Always a little salty, always a little sweaty. Even just walking from the restaurant to the yoga shala feels like play.

These kids in the photos - they were here at the beginning. Salt-stiff hair, earth-stained feet, not really knowing they were building something that would outlast the moment. They just showed up and did the thing.

The kids running around here today? They don’t know it yet either.

Maybe that’s how dreams get made. Not on purpose. Just barefoot, just present, just here.

Flying mission with the wind wizards!

One minute you’re cosily drinking your coffee getting ready for an easy day, the next you’re in the sky getting goosebumps in all the right places.
That’s how life is here on the camp.

Postcards from Surfcamp Lombok 🧡

Seems like the world out there is turning upside down again, so now is a good time to focus a little on the magic that still exists within our perimeters.

The Ramadan village prayers are lulling us all into life’s trenches together.
Monsoon days are almost over, turning everything utterly green, like a diorama of green.

The surf is surfing, with dramatic skies as eye candy and water that feels like a bath under the tropical showers.

Music nights at and last-minute sunset cookouts are still part of our improvised rituals.

Some of us are “stuck” here with cancelled flights, but if we could all build little huts by the sea, maybe that would be quite okay?
