In 2009 the first tought of Slimut Lidah was to open an affordable eating place in Ubud for everyone which serve Indonesian dishes from the west to the east end of Indonesia. As an artist himself the owner try to build the restaurant from his vision with a twisted roof, base from Joglo, the most common building type of traditional Indonesian. Opening in 2nd of October 2013 Slimut Lidah was one of
the few restaurant in Nyuh Kuning, but one and the only in Bali to serve food from everywhere in Indonesia, with a tag line of 'Indonesian food cultures' we wanted everyone to taste every culinary cultures in Indonesia. From Indonesian favorite 'nasi goreng' to the slow cooked 'rendang'. Built up high from the road in the beautiful 'Nyuh Kuning' area which is famous with Julia Robert's 'Eat,Pray,Love'. We want not only to bring you to a gastronomic journey over Indonesia's favorite, we also wanted everyone to know and see different traditional Indonesian costumes that the waitress wear every day. In 'Slimut Lidah' we always bring you the best ingredients in our kitchen from where it comes from if it is not available in Bali's traditional market. We promise that what you will enjoy here is how the taste should be where the food is originated. While you enjoy our food you can also enjoy our garden or just ask one of our staff to play a game of chess with you.
