This week’s The Shared Table at Umalas was a good one.

Vas was back, and this time joined us for studio time. Somewhere between throwing clay and getting things done, it stopped feeling like WFC and started feeling more like CFC — Craft From Café. We’re calling it.

Then the afternoon came and the vibe shifted — Turah Agung from Puri Agung Pemecutan pulled up a chair with Ariz from .id and the conversation went deep into culture and preservation. Same table, very different energy.

Honestly, that’s the best part. You never really know who shows up or where things go.

Some weeks, the best thing you can do is get out of the house.

We just hosted our first WFC (Work From Café) 💻📝 day at Kopitoko Sanur — an open invite for anyone who wants to work alongside others instead of alone. We call it The Sharing Table, and Vas and Sarah were the first ones to join us.

Vas left her 9-5 to pursue illustration full time. Sarah is an illustrator and designer. Somewhere between coffee and conversation, an exciting project started taking shape (more on that soon!).

Many of you have been DMing us asking for the June schedule, so here we go!

Sanur and Umalas both have sessions running throughout the month: rattan weaving, handbuilding pottery, linocut printing, tie dye shibori, perfume making, fabric scraps necklace, resin bookmark, crochet bag, chunky bag, airdry clay, and more.

Spots are limited and usually fills up fast, so don’t wait too long. Full schedule in the carousel.

Sanur is now part of the lineup.

We just opened our creative space there, and April is the first full month with sessions running across both Umalas and Sanur.

Beachbag making, punch needle, basic sewing, weaving, resin ocean, incense making, soap making, flower bouquet, mystical painting, pottery, ikebana, and more. A good mix of familiar faces and some new ones joining us for the first time.

Upstairs at Kopitoko Umalas has had a lot going on.

Pottery, punch needle, macramé, weaving, incense making, barista training, coffee chats on sustainability — the past few months have been a mix of making, learning, and good conversations with people who actually care about what they do.

We’re creatives at heart, and this space just felt like the natural place to share that — with friends, makers, and anyone curious enough to show up.

More sessions coming. Stay close.
