Friday night, we’ll be listening through three albums by Altın Gün — On, Gece and Aşk.

Blending traditional Turkish folk music with psychedelic rock, funk and hypnotic grooves, the Amsterdam-based band brings the spirit of Anatolian rock into a contemporary setting.

On (2018)
Altın Gün’s debut album, introducing their distinctive blend of Anatolian folk, psychedelic rock and hypnotic grooves. Raw, warm and deeply rooted in ’70s Turkish psych.

Gece (2019)
A deeper dive into the band’s psychedelic side, with funkier grooves, synths and cosmic textures woven into traditional Turkish melodies.

Aşk (2023)
A return to a more raw and organic sound. Recorded with vintage equipment and live energy, Aşk brings the band back to the earthy, psychedelic spirit of their early records.

Vatsanah’s journey in music spans across a decade - its repetitive aspects are chained into a multi-genre pattern - her sets though are also determined by the actual venue and its impressions as a community.

They are also characterised by refined tansitions with analog synth layers towards grooves and basslines. Since becoming a household name in Budapest she rocked various venues and had the honour to play with the most iconic artists of the underground scene like Dj Nobu, Margaret Dygas, Maayan Nidam, Claudio PRC, Deadbeat, Objekt.
Under the name of Vatsa she works as a painter and graphic designer transforming her musical attitude in visual forms.
