Kimono, Connecting Japan and Hungary 🇯🇵🇭🇺
We are delighted to welcome Yuko Nakano, founder of MATOU, to Snack Masako for a special gathering dedicated to cultural exchange between Japan and Hungary through kimono.
Yuko has devoted many years to kimono as a dressing instructor and professional kimono dresser, and today leads MATOU. While honoring Japanese tradition, she shares the beauty of kimono both in Japan and abroad, exploring new ways for kimono to be enjoyed in contemporary life and across different cultures.
At this gathering, Yuko will share how kimono is enjoyed in Japan today — from current styles and ways of wearing it to how this tradition continues to evolve within modern life.
There will also be time for guests in Hungary to ask questions, share their curiosity, and talk openly about anything they have always wanted to know about kimono.
Rather than a formal lecture, we hope to create a relaxed space for conversation — a moment to gather around kimono, exchange perspectives, and discover one another’s cultures.
Through kimono, Japanese and Hungarian cultures meet naturally, creating new connections.
We look forward to sharing this special time with you at Snack Masako.
