✈️ Flying to Budapest? Save this for when you land.
Getting from Budapest Airport to the city centre is actually super easy, and you definitely don’t need to figure it out while standing outside the terminal with 3% battery and no idea where you’re going. 😌
Here’s your mini Budapest airport guide:
🚌 Look for the 100E Airport Express after you arrive.
The bus stop is right outside on the arrivals level, between Terminal 2A and 2B, so once you leave the terminal, you’re basically there.
🎟️ A single airport bus ticket costs 2,500 HUF.
Important: the 100E has its own special airport ticket, so a normal single ticket won’t work. The easiest option is to simply tap your bank card on the Budapest Pay&GO machine on the bus, or buy your ticket in the BudapestGO app.
📍 Stay on until Deák Ferenc square, right in the heart of downtown Budapest.
The journey takes around 40 minutes, and buses run 24/7. During the day, you usually won’t have to wait long either, they run roughly every 5–10 minutes. The bus also stops at Kálvin square and Astoria before reaching Deák.
And now for the important part: food. 👀
From Deák Ferenc square, Pick Bistro & Lángos is around a 20-minute walk through the city centre. We’re at Kossuth Lajos square 9, literally next to the Hungarian Parliament. So technically, your first Budapest sightseeing walk can end with lángos. 🇭🇺
Too much luggage? You can also hop on the M2 metro from Deák Ferenc square to Kossuth Lajos square, it’s just one stop.
Airport → Deák → Parliament → lángos.
Honestly, not a bad first hour in Budapest. 🤝
Save this for your trip, send it to your travel buddy, and thank us when you’re eating lángos with the Parliament next to you.
