We fell in love with Makiโ€™s food some years ago, then with her character, the sweetest person with the sweetest mochi.
From the first time she came to the farm and got bit by our horse, to the mochi pounding, to the noodle slide now - thereโ€™s always a good story to tell!
And to finish off yesterday strong, we reconfirmed the Kumpariฤka & Friends status at the local village party.

When I'm back in Japan, I visit my Uji-kamisama shrine nearby my parents house to say hi always.

There were one of biggest festival. Students, families, couples and more all of generation people were gathered. Since long time i hadn't seen such an energetic evening.
Nothing new, it was simply same as 30 years ago.

The god house, shrine itself was more quiet than usual.

In Japan, traditionally we pound mochi when family have happy celebration together.
We come around mochi stone ( named USU) and hit with big hammer (named KINE).
