Tables moving a few centimetres.
One more glass to polish.
Someone looking for something that was here five minutes ago.
The garden getting quieter.

And then, somehow, everyone arrives at once.

Before everyone was where they were supposed to be.

A little waiting. Someone fixing their hair. Someone fixing their lipstick. Someone looking for the missing ones. Friends finding friends.

For a little while, our garden became the meeting point before they headed on.

Just passing through, but leaving a little celebration behind.

The invisible choreography behind one evening.

Kitchen to table. Table to bar. Bar to kitchen. Back again. And again.

Plates out. Glasses back. Someone needs water. Someone else needs wine. The chef has disappeared into storage again.

To you, it’s dinner.
To the team, apparently, it’s a long-distance sport.

Tonight’s final score: 12.56 km.

And tomorrow, we do it all over again.

Sundays, we pay attention to the things that weren’t planned.

A fig landing where dinner should be.
A shoe disappearing behind the leaves.
Someone taking their time with the menu.
A very small guest arriving in a handbag.
Footsteps heading somewhere else.

Nothing particularly important.

Things we noticed this week.

We have a habit of noticing the little things.
The ones that happen somewhere between the first table arriving and the last light going out.

Nothing particularly important.
And somehow, the things we remember most.

A few of them from this week.

What are we serving tonight?

Porchetta starts long before dinner.

Pork is opened out, seasoned generously with herbs, garlic and aromatics, rolled tightly and left to take on all those flavours before slow roasting.

By evening, the outside is deeply crisp, the centre tender and rich.

We serve it with rosemary-infused mashed potatoes, garlic confit, mushroom gremolata and toasted pumpkin seeds.

A few hours in the kitchen.
A few minutes at the table.

Crispy porchetta, tonight at Boccadoro.

We could tell you what everyone ordered.

But somewhere between the first plate and the second bottle, that stopped mattering.

Forks crossed the table. Plates changed places. Someone discovered they preferred what the person opposite had ordered. The last piece became a negotiation.

Dinner is better when nobody keeps to their own plate.
