Ana Govc is back again to introduce us to the magic of cyanotype and together we will walk the farm gathering materials to use in your prints.
After that a signature Kumparička brunch.

First up: afternoon aperitivo with small bites, open fire dishes, and Maša Salopek on desserts.

Green almonds hit different. Crispy, juicy, and honestly nothing like the mature ones we all know.
Last year I missed the window to experiment. This year the tree delivered and we went all in.
Made a fresh herb salad with lemon dressing. But our favorite is the green almond confit—tossed with fresh herbs and pink peppercorn. It’s addictive.
We’re jarring up our first new pantry line product now for you to enjoy.

Prickly pear season in Istria
We spent the day on a nearby island covered in wild orchids and opuntia cacti, a landscape straight out of Mexico, reimagined with our own local backdrop.
The harvest went into a syrup, agua fresca, a slowly fermenting vinegar, a silky curd that found its place oozing over pavlova and the pinkest labneh panna cotta.
More fruit is waiting, but the hands need a rest. Even after burning off the spines, the glochids have a way of making themselves known and our fingers are now a very convincing shade of neon pink.

BREAKING NEWS FROM THE FARM
Two new dogs have officially joined the operation. They are currently in training, which is a polite way of saying they are learning that the goats are colleagues, not entertainment. We have high hopes.

The garden department has been quietly busy, getting our upper garden set up and ready for its moment. No further comment until results are in.

Pasture hours are currently in full swing. The goats are well-fed, the asparagus harvest continues, and morale among the hooved staff is reportedly high.

The rest of the farm team remains hard at work behind the scenes on some updates we’re not ready to announce yet. Details to follow. Eventually.
