Because of the dense green forests, the ancient Greeks and Latins called it Korkyra Nigra, i.e. Black Korčula. Although that name has an attractive and somewhat mystical undertone, today's Korčula is actually woven of colors and vivid vistas that rest the eyes and soul.🩵

Due to the mild, Mediterranean climate, it is a great place for a vacation all year round, but it is displayed in its greatest splendor in the summer. [NIGRA RESTAURANT / KORČULA] Beautiful destinations come hand in hand with delicious local food - and we in Nigra not only know that, but strive to give you the very best of local ingredients day in and day out. When our restaurant was just an idea that had yet to become real - we've imagined boiling down what our vision represents to just a few basic, but crucial truths: keep the menu short, keep the ingredients local, fresh and of high quality - and when possible, be sure to blend tradition with plenty of culinary imagination. And last: have the Nigra experience be so good that guests remember it fondly months after they've left. Three years later, we've got it all: a beautiful seaside terrace overlooking the Old town of Korčula with a side view to Pelješac; wonderfully thought-out menu giving you a premium gastronomic experience of Korčula - and a great team that keeps the place running smoothly for all our lovely visitors.
