Meeting Roatán’s resident nurse sharks underwater is an unforgettable experience, but true encounters are built on mutual respect.

Despite their imposing size, nurse sharks are bottom-dwellers and generally calm, nocturnal creatures.
They spend most of their days resting on the sandy floor or under coral ledges. Snorkeling with them is highly rewarding, provided we follow a few essential rules to keep both the marine life and ourselves safe. Keep a respectful distance. Never attempt to touch, ride, or chase them. Physical contact disrupts the protective mucous layer on their skin and can cause them stress. Observe passive interaction. Float quietly at the surface, keep your hands tucked in, and let them control the encounter.
If they choose to swim close, maintain your position without sudden, jerky movements.
Never feed them. Artificial feeding alters their natural hunting instincts and creates unhealthy dependencies. By entering their world as silent observers, we ensure that these beautiful predators continue to thrive along our reef.

Beyond the horizon of Roatán lies a different kind of time.

A scenic, one-hour powerboat ride from our dock brings you to Cayos Cochinos, a strictly protected Marine Biological Reserve.

Comprising two main lush islands and thirteen tiny coral cays, this archipelago remains blissfully untouched by major developments or commercial fishing.
The water here ranks among the clearest in the world.
For our divers and snorkelers, it is an encounter with marine life in its most pristine, unaltered state.
Between the dives, we step onto the white sands of Chachahuate. This tiny cay is home to the indigenous Garifuna community, who have preserved their fishing traditions, matriarchal culture, and music for centuries.
Lunch is simple and exceptional: fresh catch prepared right on the beach.
