No importa lo que hayas hecho, Dios te aceptará

Isaías 54:7 (NTV)

Esta temporada navideña, ¿necesitas un pequeño refrigerio en tu vida? ¿Te sientes un poco seco? ¿Necesitas algo de avivamiento?

Vuelve a Dios.

Quizás digas: "Rick, no sabes lo que he hecho". No necesito saberlo, porque no importa quién seas o qué hayas hecho. Dios todavía quiere que regreses a él.

Quizás digas: “¿Dios no me va a regañar? He estado alejado de él durante meses, años, décadas”. Esto es lo que la Biblia dice que Dios hará cuando regreses a él: “Con gran amor te recibiré” (Isaías 54:7 NVI).

Dios no está enojado contigo. ¡Dios está enojado por ti! Nadie jamás te amará más que el Creador que te creó. Dios Padre te creó, Jesús el Hijo murió por ti y el Espíritu de Dios quiere vivir en ti. La Navidad es prueba del amor de Dios por ti.

Muchas personas no pueden sentir el amor de Dios porque escuchan las voces equivocadas. Si escuchas lo que otras personas dicen sobre ti, te deprimirás. Si escuchas lo que te dices a ti mismo, te deprimirás. Deja de creer todo lo que te dices a ti mismo, porque no todo es verdad. Te mientes a ti mismo más de lo que le mientes a los demás. No eres el mejor juez de ti mismo, porque tus sentimientos mienten todo el tiempo. (¡Esto es cierto para todos nosotros!)

Tienes que decidir a quién le vas a creer. ¿Vas a construir tu vida sobre lo que todos los demás piensan de ti? ¿Vas a escuchar lo que dicen los críticos sobre ti en las redes sociales? ¿Vas a escuchar tus propios sentimientos?

¿O vas a escuchar lo que Dios dice de ti, que es la verdad?

Hechos 3:19 dice: “¡Ahora es el momento de cambiar tus costumbres! Vuélvete hacia Dios para que él pueda borrar tus pecados [y] derramar lluvias de bendiciones para refrescarte” (MSG).

Tienes muchos defectos, pero eres profundamente amado y eres infinitamente valioso. Es posible que haya llegado al final de sí mismo y sienta que no tiene a quién acudir. Pero siempre hay alguien a quien acudir.

Con profundo amor, Dios te acogerá de regreso.

Hablar de ello

¿Crees que Dios te ama a pesar de las peores cosas que hayas hecho? ¿Por qué o por qué no?
¿La voz de quién escuchas con más frecuencia? ¿La opinión de quién tiene más peso en tu vida?
¿Cuáles son algunas de las cosas que Dios dice acerca de usted en su Palabra? ¿Confías en que esas cosas sean ciertas?

¿Has confiado en Jesús para tu salvación?

La Biblia dice que sólo podemos llegar al cielo confiando en Dios a través de su Hijo Jesucristo. Y no necesitamos ganarnos el amor de Dios ni abrirnos camino hacia el cielo. La Biblia dice: “Por gracia sois salvos mediante la fe; y esto no de vosotros, sino que es don de Dios; no por obras, para que nadie se gloríe” (Efesios 2:8-9 NVI) .

Si no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? Si estás listo para cruzar esa línea y tomar la decisión de creer en Jesucristo y seguirlo, haz esta oración:

“Querido Jesús, prometiste que si creo en ti, todo lo que he hecho mal será perdonado, aprenderé el propósito de mi vida y algún día me aceptarás en tu hogar eterno en el cielo.

“Confieso mi pecado y creo que tú eres mi Salvador. Has prometido que si confieso mi pecado y confío en ti, seré salvo. Confío en ti cuando dices que la salvación viene por gracia, a través de la fe, y no por nada de lo que hago. Te recibo en mi vida como mi Señor. Hoy entrego cada parte de mi vida a tu dirección. Tienes derecho a tomar las decisiones en mi vida.

“Jesús, quiero usar el resto de mi vida para servirte en lugar de servirme a mí mismo. Te entrego mi vida y te pido que me salves y me aceptes en tu familia. En tu nombre rezo. Amén."

No Matter What You’ve Done, God Will Take You Back

This Christmas season, do you need a little refreshment in your life? Are you feeling a little dried up? Do you need some revival?

Come back to God.

You may say, “Rick, you don’t know what I’ve done.” I don’t need to know, because it doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done. God still wants you to come back to him.

You may say, “Isn’t God going to scold me? I’ve been away from him for months, years, decades.” Here’s what the Bible says God will do when you come back to him: “With deep love I will take you back” (Isaiah 54:7 GNT).

God isn’t mad at you. God is mad about you! No one will ever love you more than the Creator who made you. God the Father created you, Jesus the Son died for you, and God’s Spirit wants to live in you. Christmas is proof of God’s love for you.

Many people can’t feel God’s love because they’re listening to the wrong voices. If you listen to what other people say about you, it’ll get you down. If you listen to what you tell yourself, it’ll get you down. Stop believing everything you tell yourself, because it’s not all true. You lie to yourself more than you lie to anybody else. You’re not the best judge of you, because your feelings lie all the time. (This is true for all of us!)

You have to decide whom you’re going to believe. Are you going to build your life on what everybody else thinks about you? Are you going to listen to what the critics say about you on social media? Are you going to listen to your own feelings?

Or are you going to listen to what God says about you, which is the truth?

Acts 3:19 says, “Now it’s time to change your ways! Turn to face God so he can wipe away your sins [and] pour out showers of blessing to refresh you” (MSG).

You’re deeply flawed, but you are deeply loved, and you are infinitely valuable. You may have come to the end of yourself and feel like you don’t have anywhere to turn. But there is always Someone to turn to.

With deep love, God will take you back.

Talk It Over

Do you believe God loves you despite the worst things you’ve ever done? Why or why not?
Whose voice do you listen to most often? Whose opinion holds the most weight in your life?
What are some of the things God says about you in his Word? Do you trust that those things are true?

Have you trusted Jesus for your salvation?

The Bible says we can only get to heaven by trusting in God through his Son, Jesus Christ. And we don’t need to earn God’s love or work our way into heaven. The Bible says, “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV).

If you haven’t trusted in Jesus and committed to following him, why wait any longer? If you’re ready to step across that line and make a decision to believe in Jesus Christ and follow him, pray this prayer:

“Dear Jesus, you promised that if I believe in you, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, I will learn the purpose of my life, and you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.

“I confess my sin, and I believe that you are my Savior. You have promised that if I confess my sin and trust you, I will be saved. I trust you when you say that salvation comes by grace, through faith, and not by anything I do. I receive you into my life as my Lord. Today I’m turning over every part of my life to your management. You have the right to call the shots in my life.

“Jesus, I want to use the rest of my life to serve you instead of serving myself. I commit my life to you and ask you to save me and accept me into your family. In your name I pray. Amen.”

What Is Love?

“Love means doing what God has commanded us.”
2 John 1:6 (NLT)

Because love should be central to our lives, we need to be sure to understand what love really is.

The Bible says love is a command. God commands that we love each other: “Love means doing what God has commanded us” (2 John 1:6 NLT).

Because God commands you to love, he also gives you the power and ability to do it! That means that love isn’t a feeling—because we can’t always control our feelings. Imagine saying to a crying child: “I command you to be happy!” That wouldn’t work, because we don’t have total control over our feelings. But God commands us to love, so that means we’re able to love.

The Bible says love is a choice. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 14:1, “Go after a life of love as if your life depended on it—because it does” (MSG). If you “go after” something, that means you make a choice. Love is a choice; you choose to love or not to love.

Many people try to justify a divorce by saying, “I just don’t love my spouse anymore”—as if that’s totally out of their control. But acting in love when you don’t feel like it is actually a higher level of love than when you do feel like it. It’s one thing to love when the flowers are in bloom, but the real test of love is in the winter, when things are not going great. You can choose to love others like God loves you, in spite of how you feel. You can give the other person what they need, not what they deserve.

The Bible says love is a conduct. Love is something you do. The Bible says, “Let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love them, and show it by our actions” (1 John 3:18 TLB).

Every day God puts opportunities around us to demonstrate love. But most of the time, we’re too busy to follow through. How many times have you thought, “I need to make a call; I need to encourage that person at work; I need to help my neighbor,” but then you missed the opportunity because something else came up? Love takes advantage of opportunities to serve others.

The Bible says love is a commitment. The Bible says in 1 John 4:16, “God is love. If we keep on loving others, we will stay one in our hearts with God, and he will stay one with us” (CEV). Your relationship with God is greatly affected by your relationship with other people. If you commit to loving others, then you will stay one in your heart with God, and he’ll stay one with you—because God is love.

• Love is a command, a choice, a conduct, and a commitment. Which of those attributes do you need to apply to one of your relationships today?
• What does it mean to be “one in our hearts with God,” as 1 John 4:16 says?
• Love is not a feeling. It’s a command. How can this truth encourage you when you’re trying to love difficult people?

Debido a que el amor debe ser central en nuestras vidas, debemos asegurarnos de comprender qué es realmente el amor.

La Biblia dice que el amor es un mandamiento. Dios ordena que nos amemos unos a otros: “Amar significa hacer lo que Dios nos ha mandado” (2 Juan 1:6 NTV).

Debido a que Dios te ordena amar, ¡también te da el poder y la capacidad para hacerlo! Eso significa que el amor no es un sentimiento, porque no siempre podemos controlar nuestros sentimientos. Imagínate decirle a un niño que llora: “¡Te ordeno que seas feliz!” Eso no funcionaría porque no tenemos control total sobre nuestros sentimientos. Pero Dios nos ordena amar, eso significa que podemos amar.

La Biblia dice que el amor es una elección. La Biblia dice en 1 Corintios 14:1: “Ve tras una vida de amor como si tu vida dependiera de ello, porque así es” (MSG). Si "persigues" algo, eso significa que tomas una decisión. El amor es una elección; eliges amar o no amar.

Mucha gente intenta justificar el divorcio diciendo: "Simplemente ya no amo a mi cónyuge", como si eso estuviera totalmente fuera de su control. Pero actuar con amor cuando no lo sientes es en realidad un nivel más alto de amor que cuando lo sientes. Una cosa es amar cuando las flores están floreciendo, pero la verdadera prueba del amor es en el invierno, cuando las cosas no van muy bien. Puedes elegir amar a los demás como Dios te ama a ti, a pesar de cómo te sientas. Puedes darle a la otra persona lo que necesita, no lo que merece.

La Biblia dice que el amor es una conducta. El amor es algo que haces. La Biblia dice: “Dejemos de decir simplemente que amamos a las personas; Amémoslos de verdad y demostrémoslo con nuestras acciones” (1 Juan 3:18 TLB).

Cada día Dios pone oportunidades a nuestro alrededor para demostrar amor. Pero la mayor parte del tiempo estamos demasiado ocupados para seguir adelante. ¿Cuántas veces has pensado: “Necesito hacer una llamada; Necesito animar a esa persona en el trabajo; Necesito ayudar a mi prójimo”, ¿pero luego perdiste la oportunidad porque surgió algo más? El amor aprovecha las oportunidades para servir a los demás.

La Biblia dice que el amor es un compromiso. La Biblia dice en 1 Juan 4:16: “Dios es amor. Si seguimos amando a los demás, seremos uno en nuestro corazón con Dios, y él seguirá siendo uno con nosotros” (CEV). Tu relación con Dios se ve muy afectada por tu relación con otras personas. Si te comprometes a amar a los demás, entonces seguirás siendo uno en tu corazón con Dios, y él seguirá siendo uno contigo, porque Dios es amor.

¿Puede Dios amarte más de lo que te ama ahora?

“Sé que tu amor durará para siempre, que tu fidelidad es tan permanente como el cielo”.
Salmo 89:2 (NTV)

El amor de Dios nunca se desgasta. El amor de Dios es paciente, persistente y perseverante.

¿No es una buena noticia que Dios nunca se rinde contigo? No importa lo que hagas, su amor nunca se rinde. Es lo suficientemente amplio como para incluir a todos y lo suficientemente largo como para durar para siempre.

Dios nunca te amará más de lo que te ama ahora. Pero él tampoco te amará menos que ahora.

Él te ama en tus días buenos. Él te ama en tus días malos. Su amor no está condicionado por tu respuesta. Dios es amor y su amor se da gratuitamente. No se puede ganar y es inmerecido.

La Biblia dice: “Sé que tu amor durará para siempre, que tu fidelidad es permanente como el cielo” (Salmo 89:2 NVI).

El amor de Dios durará para siempre, pero debes elegir aceptarlo confiando en Jesucristo como tu Salvador. La Biblia dice: “Por gracia sois salvos mediante la fe, y esto no de vosotros, sino don de Dios, no por obras, para que nadie se gloríe” (Efesios 2:8-9 NVI ).

Can God Love You More Than He Does Now?

“I know that your love will last for all time, that your faithfulness is as permanent as the sky.”

God’s love never wears out. God’s love is patient, persistent, and persevering.

Isn’t it good news that God never gives up on you? No matter what you do, his love never gives up. It’s wide enough to include everybody, and it’s long enough to last forever.

God will never love you any more than he does right now. But he also will never love you any less than he does right now.

He loves you on your good days. He loves you on your bad days. His love is not conditioned by your response. God is love, and his love is given freely. It cannot be earned, and it is undeserved.

The Bible says, “I know that your love will last for all time, that your faithfulness is as permanent as the sky” (Psalm 89:2 GNT).

God’s love will last forever—but you do have to choose to accept it by trusting in Jesus Christ as your Savior. The Bible says, “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV).

Are you ready to accept God’s love and offer of salvation? If so, then pray this prayer:

“Dear God, you have promised that if I believe in your Son, Jesus Christ, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, I will learn the purpose of my life, and you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.
“I confess I have sinned, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died to take away my sins and that you raised him to life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow him as Lord from this day forward. I believe that your love for me and your faithfulness will continue forever. Please guide my life, and help me to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
